Printing on a Gelli Plate

Have you tried printing on a Gelli Plate?  It's an amazing surface for creating monoprints.

Below you can see a Gelli Plate on the right.  I have rolled out some paint and dropped a couple of shapes onto it.  On the left is a print I had already made which I will flip over onto the wet paint to print on another layer.  It's all about layers peeking through layers!

Here is the result.  You can see the original blue and pink colors showing through the yellow where the shapes had masked the paint. It is beautiful but I will add another layer. It is exciting to see what happens with each additional layer!

I rolled out another color that I think will harmonize with the previous layers. I created texture in the paint and added masks.  I pulled another print onto the same paper.

Love this!  I think I'll stop for now....or will I?
